Project Information

This patio cooler is made of 100% redwood. I found the wood on craigslist as a torn down patio cover. I took the screws out and planed and cleaned up the wood. I have requests for about 10 of these, and I think I have enough wood for them all. Some are for my kids, birthday presents, and father's day present.

I took some advice from another post and added one inch insulation around the cooler to see if it would keep the cooler colder for longer, I haven't tried it yet, but it was cheap so I decided to try it.

I do some stuff with horse shoes so I decided to use one of the horse shoes as the handle on the lid.

I recently decided to make a Facebook page with my kids to show some of the stuff we are making in my shop in Meridian, Idaho. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kroupa-Kustum-Idaho-Wood-Krafts/1429234470652972.

If you want to see what we are doing in Meridian, Idaho you can like my page. I am trying to get as many likes as possible, as a contest with my kids.

Thanks for looking.

Looks nice. Good job of recycling. I see you use a drain setup similar to mine. I sprayed in foam around the gaps between the cooler and the wood so it would anchor the cooler and not let it shift around. I didn't want someone to mess up the drain while moving it.
