Project Information

Ok, so this is the latest. I used a 40gal storage container, pt 2×4's and 4×4's for the corners. Sheet styrofoam around the tub, and spray foam to fill in the gaps. Keeps ice for about 36 hours and drinks cold for about 48. Oh and it holds a CRAP LOAD of beer!!!! Nothing better than enjoying the fruits of your labor!

Very cool, really neat thing to have in summer or near the sofa during games in winter.

The drain is 1/2" pvc. A short piece with an elbow from bottom of tub. That was the easy part. The siding is cedar fence planks, figured they were made for outdoor applications and they are very light in weight. Also sprayed a quick coat of spar urethane over the whole thing, just as added protection.

great looking project and practical. are you certain about the 36 hrs. Perhaps we should have an ad hoc committee of lumberjocks test this claim. I'll chair the committee. You supply the ice. beer and location and pre whatever you will need to relieve several thousand LJ's full of beer

Every beer drinker should have one of these on their deck. GREAT idea. Thanks for the idea. Will be building one of these for next spring.
