Project Information
Once you learn patience, making projects with reclaimed lumber is fun.
This is a solid oak six drawer dresser made from pallet wood and lots of love.
Wrestling this material into submission is no easy task, but take it one step at a time and you won't have any trouble…..patience
It is oak from head to toe, including the 7/8ths thick case, to the 3/4 " full depth drawer dividers.
The drawers are 3/4" case with tongue and groove 1/2" drawer bottoms.
The drawer fronts are glued-up re-sawn panels made from a 4×4 each.
The back is also tongue & groove 1/2 oak.
There is not one board in this whole thing that is more then 3" wide….meaning about a ba-zillion glue-ups…lol
The guides are Kosta/Nova full length ball bearing soft close models that my daughter got for a steal from her work.
(God bless her smart little eagle eyes.)
Throw in dove tailed everything and some nice cove & bead edge treatments, along with shop made full width drawer pulls, and you have a very heavy dresser that I suspect will out-last me by a long shot.
The finish is about five coats of golden oak stain, polyurethane and wax.
I've included some of the process shots below.
The only thing I would have done differently is NOT start this big a project just as the "hot-season" was starting down here in Florida…lol
Thanks for looking and have a great day.
