Project Information
Here is my completed pantry door tool chest, from closed to full extension. The front has been stained and sanded to give it this antique look (frankly, the black oak stain I used was way too dark!). Two coats of shellac have been applied on all exterior surfaces, except the shelves which got two coats of that dark oak gel stain. The interior was kept raw since I'm planning to glue hooks, holders and shelves. Any finish wood interfer with a good glue bond.
And here it is hung to the wall on french cleats, ready to be filled. Can you imagine the usefulness of the top and lower shelves I added?
All construction details and photos on this page of my blog.
Thanks for looking.
Best,
Serge
