Project Information

This was made as a gift to my wife for her birthday earlier this month.

Otis was a Miniature Pincher that my wife was introduced to as a very tiny puppy. He spent his entire life with her and became her closest friend. I am fairly sure that if she would have had to choose between myself or Otis, I would be packing my things! Luckily, everyone was a friend of Otis' - even our three cats. He got along with everyone and made everyone he met a tiny bit happier for knowing him.

Sadly, Otis passed away a few years ago one bright summer day. He was 14 1/2 years old.

The cutting measures 10×12 inches and is solid Ambrosia Maple. Treatment is a soak in lemon oil and a backing of thick felt.

My wife would also like a shadow-box style frame made from a dark wood - once this is done I will post as Picture 4.

Enjoy!

Hi, Bob:
So sorry to hear of your loss. Even though it was years ago, I am sure it is still painful. It is good that Otis had such a happy life and it sounds like he made all around him happy and filled their hearts with joy. This will be remembered forever and all will be reminded of it by this beautiful piece of art. You did a wonderful job on this and I am sure you put your heart and soul into it too. Thanks for sharing not only the picture, but the story too.

Well done, Bob . . . a wonderful way to remember a departed friend. Did you use a puter software to convert the photo to a pattern? If so, which one did u use?
