Project Information

Well here is the first box I made from edge grain OSB ,see my previous post on this .
It worked out well all in all except for the hinges that I used which are just a little large for the wall thicknes .
The trim pieces are a mix from the scrap bin ,I was using this as experiment box just to see how it would work out and I am pleased with the result .
I did some filling on the OSB to achieve a little smother finish and than put a bees wax finish on after sanding to 150 grit .
My wife was good enough to make the liners and I put the wax finish on today and I call it done .
Size is 10"x6 1/2"x4 1/2" .
Let me know what you think ,good or bad .

Wow nothing bad here! You amaze me once again! I truly love the look of this OSB box. What you do with simple cheap materials is outstanding! I love it! And your wife did a nice job on the liners also. My hat's off to you sir!

Another beauty. It reminds me of some of Frank Lloyd Wright's houses (he's been one of my heroes since I was about 6).

The OSB looks real cool. Some kind of funky petrified wood or almost like a very porous stone. I like the trim, and Doe's right it does give it a FLW feel. Overall a positive experiment.

Well done on the outside BUT that inside is like "POW." Man this is a beautiful box and again, that inside just blows your eyes wide open! Great job.

The OSB presents an interesting look. Nice combination of trim woods to cap off the rough edges. I like the little corner caps on your tray as well. A worthy experiment.

The OSB has a sort of striated, stone-like feel to it. The more sophisticated interior plays well against it. I gotta try this….Thanks, Kiefer….another winner!

Oh yes!! This is fantastic! Luv how you did the hinges w/the stop angle cut on em. Ingenious. Seen a box on a show called "Revenge", and, noticed it had something similar. I like your idea much better. Kuddo's.
