Project Information

This box is made with curly ambrosia maple and cherry burl. The pull was made by a friend of mine, but I can't for the life of me remember what its called. Sadly I can't blame it on getting old, I have always had that problem.

I use a "holey galahad" grinding disk to shape the lid

Box size is 4×4x5ish

Very nicely done.
What kind of finish did you use?
Is the pull attached with epoxy?

Another awesome piece. The only thing I would change is to make the pull point straight up.

Bill, this is lovely stuff. I don't know where you find it, but you really come up with some magnificent local woods. Nice work.

Very nice box. I really like the maple and unique stipe it has, that sets the box off, along with the nicely shaped lid.

I LOVE the pagoda style lid, could you share how this is done? The finish just pops.

How did I miss seeing this beauty? I'm a big fan of keeping the grain lined up all the way around the box and what you did with this ambrosia maple is spectacular! And about the lid - what was I going to say? I forgot
