Project Information

Last year my brother-in-law wondered if I could build him an end table that would also serve as a display case for his antique bear trap. I've been woodworking a few years but never designed anything from scratch this extensive. It took a bit of planning because I wanted to make the glass panels accessible in case one was broken and needed replaced. The glass fits in grooves and the top screwed on so it can be removed if needed to get to the glass.

It's made of red oak that he got a good deal on, stained with GF Salem and finished with several coats of satin Arm-R-Seal. It took several months of weekends but I was pleased with how it turned out. Two of the pictures show it in its new home.
