Thanks Dave, this one was an older project of mine. I agree, the contrast between the oak and walnut is really attractive, plus it doesn't mate my hand cut dovetails appear too bad! Ha

I like the name: Keepsake Box. I'm going to start using it. It's so much better than Fun-thing-for-me-to-build-for-no-real-reason-box, which is what I've been using.

I also like the mysterious symbol on top. Must be the symbol for keepsakes

Josh,

Oak and walnut is my favorite combination. I have used lots of exotic woods, but there is something honest and fundamental about these two. What is the inlay about? It looks like a JT. I prefer splines because dove tails are too tough. Nice work and great job of taking on a challenge in the design.

Boxguy, I agree, If you take a look at my other projects you will notice that I use oak and walnut together frequently because of the great contrast between the two (especially when I want to feature an inlay or fancy joinery). And the TJ inlay originated from the initials of myself and my girlfriend (Tash and Josh) so whenever I make something for her I use that design :). Thanks for your comment!
