Showcase cover image for Noah's Ark/Cradle

Project Information

My wife bought the plans for this cradle/ark when our daughter was born in 1982. She slept in the cradle but I never had the time to convert it into Noah's ark. Now our two grandsons have slept in it and I decided it was finally time to build the ark and animals for Christmas.

The cradle is made from pine (the only wood I had in 1982); the ark is made from maple and the animals from 2" thick cherry. Finish is polyurethane and wax (on the ark) and mineral oil on the animals.

To tipiman/Andy: the plans I used came from the April 22, 1980 issue of Woman's Day magazine. I did a quick Google search but came up empty. I'll post a picture of the front cover - maybe that will help in your search.
