Project Information

My old plastic Fastener Organizers finally gave up the ghost.
Replacements at "The Borg" would have run about $100.00.
Forget that !
For about half that much, and a little ingenuity, I almost doubled my capacity and now have a more organized arrangement which works perfectly for me. Everything is in one spot and easily accessed.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Heya Eric,
I'd love some close ups on how the storage works .. is it slotted boards that hold some sort of container? it's hard to see at the distance and it looks super useful something I would want to steal err borrow .. :)

Hi Jeremy
It is a divided rack with dadoes cut in to allow the metal pans with side tabs (from the dollar store) to slide in and out easily.
There are 58 containers in all, and everything is easily spotted and accessible.
It has worked out great.
And steal…err, borrow away… lol.

I love the pan idea for small parts storage, I might have to pick some up at the dollar store. Beats the hell out of makeing 56 tiny little drawers

I have my hardware stored in Durham storage drawers. I'm using the cheap plastic Stack-On storage cabinets for small parts.

This project would make a great replacement for the Stack-On cabinets.

Great Idea.

I think my plastic storage bins just might have an unfortunate "accident" after seeing this setup. It would be "terrible" of course, but sometimes accidents happen.
I am a fan of inexpensive!
Thanks for sharing.
Well done.

So is this your "showroom shop" and you have another place where you actually make stuff?? :)

Good work. This is officially the shortest time I have spent on Lumberjocks. Yours is the first project I opened and it is inspiring me to go outside and finish some organizing I started a while ago.

Thanks!

Now that is my kind of project. Don't let anyone give you crap about a clean, organized shop. Are those pans like small baking pans?
