Very impressive. I like boxes that make you think. A lot of work went into this, both design and execution. I like it.

Martyn,
Lots to like in a 4 1/2" package! The pattern is striking, but all your designs are. I very much like the shell box design, eliminating the seam and accompanying visual distraction. The plinth provides the solid foundation and seems to link the other walnut pieces together in a completely coherent whole. Very much enjoyed the blot as well. Your level of precision is something to admire.

I was wondering what those grooves were for before reading the script. What a great solution to allow the air to escape. Those gentle curves on the edges of the box top really set it off, as does the yew. Fine, fine work!
