Project Information

Just finish these Shop Cabinets - Been working on them for about 3 months. Use a minimalist cabinet construction.
Use Poplar to make the drawers (dovetail all joints) Drawer fronts and edge banding done with Oak. All solid wood came from trees we cut down from our property when we built the house. Thanks for looking. Now I actually have an official project for my Lumberjock account!

Here is a link to all the pictures I made during the process. (Warning - Some are cheesy) However this may help others wanting to make similar cabinets. Photo Link

I can tell you are one for organization. That is a good thing. The cabinets beautiful. My problem would be remembering what was in the drawers :).

Very complimentary colours and lines, as well as good general proportions of the drawer fronts to handles to countertop thickness. All is very "right" to my eyes. Nice.

Your cabinets look terrific! We love the layout, the use of your own oak, and the drawer handles. Did you make the drawer handles yourself?

Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic set of cabinets…you can never have enough storage and I would imagine they will get filled quickly.

Great organizational job. Drawers and cabinet doors also keep the inevitable fine dust off your tools and supplies. My problem would be in remembering what was in each drawer. I label them all..after years of drawer pulling and searching.

Thanks everyone for the very nice comments. The cabinets have definitely been a nice addition to the garage. Before this cabinet was built I was storing things in boxes and Tupperware containers. I wanted mostly smaller shallow drawers to help keep it organized. However, I do have a few deep ones for storage cases and routers, etc.. The pulls came from Lee Valley. Again, thanks for everyone comments. Hoping someday to start blogging the whole workshop construction.
