I finally got around to building my first workbench. I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. It is made from plans from Family Handyman with a few modifications. I made the drawer pulls myself and added a large shallow drawer under the 4 drawers. I make a lot of picture frames and I cut my own glass. This drawer allows me to store off cut pieces of glass for future use. This drawer measures 48"L x 20"W x 1 1/2"D. The bench is made with 2×4s & 3/4" maple plywood. The edging is 3/8" x 3/4" that was given to me. The last picture is what I replaced. A slight upgrade, I'd say.
I should add, I've been surfing this site for any and every project with "workbench" tagged and have gotten a lot of inspiration from this site both for this project and many of the other things I've made. There is an incredible wealth of knowledge here and I thank everyone who shares!
