Project Information

Just took delivery on my new RoMaxx CNC router ( http://www.romaxxcnc.com/index.html ). Drove up to Redford, MI on Thursday to pick up the machine from the manufacturer. Ron Rogers is the owner and a great guy …. as he preformed final testing on my machine he gave me a few quick lessons so I get the machine up & running quickly.
By Friday I was making dust …. my first project was a little gift for my neighbors. They have located in the area from Ontario and just recently had their basement finished with a bar. Thought I would make them a little sign to hang in their bar area.
This is going to be a great tool with a lot of capability …. I've got a lot of ideas on how to enhance the sporting clay shooting boxes that I enjoy making.

what did that set you back?

how big is the workable bed?

I might consider making a "dust proof room" for the hard drive and keyboard?

Nice toy!!!!!!!!

Work table is 24" X 36" and the spindle is an 892 Porter Cable router. It was pretty reasonable for the quality of the machine. Ron builds a nice machine and he has quite a few of them out in the field now so it is a pretty refined design.

COOL! I love that little thing! I used to run a big 8×12 version with an 8 tool spindle. That thing looks really cool..the sign you made came out really nice. I checked out the website…pretty reasonable for a CNC machine.

I guess that didn't really answer the question of how much they cost. I looked at the website briefly, but don't have the time to figure out what a complete setup costs, everything is broke down in pieces.

I asked a stupid question which really is none of my business.

I also checked out the web site and you simply add …...........and you get a total.

Nice toy and like most toys they are as good as the operator, and can be a whole lot quicker.

That is just cool as heck. I can see a lot of really good use out of that… and a lot of very creative projects. Thanks for the post, have fun with your tool.

Very cool.
It looks like you got the MPG installed. I have alway wondered if one could use the volume knob on that Dell keyboard as a MPG (Manual Pulse Generator to step the motors .001, .01, or .1 at a time)... Particularly if you were using Linux MC2 - it is very configurable. I don't suppose you would need to answer that question since you already have one…
