Looks good. Lotsa good storage space. I might add a dowel rod, or something across the shelves on the doors, so the contents wouldn't fall out when you open it.

Roger, I have already started thinking about that. Not sure what I am going to do yet tho. From the little bit of stuff I have in there, it seems like I may not have much trouble with things falling over or falling out. Time will tell tho.

I love how the middle section has deep and shallow halves. I have several shelving units and sometimes it is a pain to move stuff from the front to get to the stuff in the back.

Nice cabinet! I've been looking to build something like this for garage storage. I'm not sure where you are from, but if you live in an area with seismic concerns you might want to consider fastening the cabinet to a wall.

This looks like a great place to store several different items.
Question is there a purpose for the back board to be peg board?
What type of wood did you use to make this?

Sorry for the delay in posting, but I live in a state with very little seismic activity, but I did secure it to the wall with several tapcons at the top. I spent all day Wednesday cleaning it up and realized I have 15-20 gallons of old latex paint I had to dispose of. It was done by local regulations. But by the end of the night it was filled.

The pegboard in the back of the cabinet just gives it more versatility. It was constructed from 3/4 oak plywood from the box store, total of 4 sheets, and 2 sheets of 1/4 pegboard.

Now when i need any small item I know it is this cabinet. My wife came down to the basement shop and said this place looks empty now. That's a compliment I like to hear. I am trying to update this photo gallery to add the pics with it full, does anyone know how I can do that?

The plans for this storage cabinet came from American Woodworker, entitled Giant Shop Cabinet. It not only can be used in a shop, but in a small kitchen for a pantry, or in a garage for vehicle cleaning supplies or where ever you need extra storage.

It took me about a week to complete and that includes 2 coats of Minwax Polycrylic. All the shelves are adjustable. The ones in the back and middle shelves are shelf pins and on the door shelves are the shelf standards and clips. If I happen to build another one of these cabinets, I will use all shelf pins.

All in all, this was a great project to start getting my shop organized. I am hoping to pack anything and everything into this cabinet. I am still waiting on the shelf bins from Amazon and the rare earth door magnets to come in. The total cost of this was about $250. If anyone attempts this cabinet, just send me a quick email and I can help you out if needed.
