Project Information
So Saturday night I hear my DW yelling something about come upstairs. Of course since I was in my shop it was a bit hard to understand. When I got there I found her in the pantry holding up the wire shelving racks which had decided to break loose from the wall. I quickly got all breakable items off and a few shelves cleaned out (which you can see in pic 3). We then took a breath and cleared out the whole pantry. Fortunately nothing was lost and she is fine. It did not take long to decided that the wire shelves were not going back in there. I did some looking around and found some ideas on the web. What you see in the first two pics is the final outcome.
I spent most of the day yesterday putting it together and finished it tonight. It is supported by 2×3s all the way around and standard pine boards in varying widths make up the shelves. The side boards are secured with pocket hole joints and cut at an angle on the front to avoid the door jam. We were happy to find that we got one extra shelf even though the depths are less it is more organized and we can see everything much better.
Since I had to cut some wider boards I was able to get a birthday gift a month early. I decided on the Craftsman 12 Sliding miter saw based on reviews and information here (Thanks Bob) and also online. It is a nice saw and I am looking forward to it coming down to my shop this week.
Thanks all for looking.
