having grown up on a cow and horse ranch, thats what we'd call a single tree, you'd have about three of these for it to be called a double tree.
nice looking, had to be a hoot to make, thanks for sharing

Thank you for the compliments! I did enjoy this project as few of the things I turn get used in a way quite like this one will.
As for what it is actually called I have heard whippletree, Neckyoke, singletree and lead whippletree.
As for me well I'm a city boy who retired to cottage country. Just trying to help out with turned items where I can.
I call him a customer but truth is friend would be a better description.
I will pass my card around the folks showing at the fall fairs in the area to see if anyone else has turned harness parts that need refreshing.

Very cool project. I don't think I've seen anything like that here. Cool to know folks still have stuff like that in use
