Project Information

Nakashima style sled base table. 19 high with a massive 2X30X7' Cherry slab top. This is a custom 100% cherry piece….. LOL with maple butterflies.
I lucked into this giant cherry butt log several months back & have about 11 of these slabs!!!
Oil finish.
I also have a mill up & running & am selling some really nice freshly sawn cherry & walnut. Here at the store in shelocta, in my ebay store: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Around-The-Bend-Woodworks__W0QQ_armrsZ1
& off my website: http://www.around-the-bend.com
& the first load will be coming out of the new kiln around the end of april.
Thanks!

I love the style of Nakashima. Nice job, good luck with the rest of the slabs.

This is a very elegant and beautiful piece. Please forgive my ignorance, but how did you attach the top to the base? What technique did you use on the edges of the slab? I have been offered a slab that would make a nice, though smaller, example of this table but I have been reluctant to take on the project for lack of skills to do it justice. Maybe now…
