Project Information

This is one of my first projects. I found the plans on the Skil website. I added a few of my own touches, like the sign on the top shelf. If you are interested in making the work bench, the plans are at http://www.skiltools.com/en/UseYourSkil/HowTo/

My four year old now has a better work bench than I do.

My son would love this! He's only 4 so I think its a little early for him to have real tools. How old are yours? I'm wondering when I start showing him tools.. Thanks for the website link. Great Job.

My son is only four. He has quite a few real tools. He can be wild most of the time, but doesn't mess around with his tools.

Absolutely wonderful!!

If my dad had built ME something like this … it's possible (though highly unlikely) that I wouldn't have stolen HIS tools ;-)

Nice job!

Great looking bench. I like the selection of tools especially the old crank drill great idea. My daughter is 3 right now and plays at her Little Tikes workbench while I am in my shop. May have to think about making her a bench of her own in the future. She is already helping me to build some things and I love every minute of it.

btw… Welcome to LumberJocks.

Neil, this just reminded me of the workbench my grandfather made for me. I wonder if it is still in Mom's basement.

Enjoy every minute with your kids. They grow up and move away someday, but the memories that you make together will last forever.

I like it. Might be a while till my kids are old enough to use a bench, but when they are, I'll certainly be williing to make them one. Two thumbs up.
