This a protype for a set of dining chairs that I am working on. The back is too low, so the next prototype version I will increase the angle on the back leg assembly.
The original intention was for them to go out back but SWMBO wants dining chairs so the next version will have a soft seat and a full back.
The material is laminated pine salvaged from fence palings that were laminated. The result is a very rigid construction.
The angles are reinforced with splines.
If it had ended up being an outdoor chair they would have been painted white and the underlying timber would be hidden.
I always make working models when making prototypes. Not sure what this version will end up. Might put a plant on it.
Despite the low back support it is not terribly uncomfortable and the overall style is pleasing.
