Project Information

So… Since I have such a small "workshop" (roughly half of the small shed that is my well house,) I needed a small workbench… Made from a 2×16x30 cottonwood slab, the Maple legs (recycled from an odd-out 3.5" scrap table leg) are set with through-mortise-and-tenon joinery at a 45° angle to the corners and with a ~20° slope, then wedged in place with some small Walnut scraps. I ended up using Gorilla brand Wood Glue because I couldn't find my Titebond 3. The whole thing stand about 18". Between this, my pipe and F-style clamps, and my " Bench Bull," I've actually got a pretty workable setup for small, hand-tool projects- which is really all that I do right now… I'm still rather new to hobby woodworking.

Well done. Keep at it. Woodworking relaxes your mind and it's very satisfying when you make something.

Looks great! You will need a bench to build a bench sometime in the future. I shared a 10' x 16' shop with all the yard tools, mower and wife's storage until I kick them all out (wife only out of the shed). This hobby can really sneak up on you. It won't be long before you walk around that shed and say "I can make this bigger". Welcome to LJ's

Congrats and you have a start with good bench and space. I worked out of a half garage for years. Nice wood selection
