Project Information

Well i just finished this frame and swing. I have probably been working on it for a month a half now. It seems i never had more than an hour and a half a week to work on it. I posted the frame for critique weeks ago on here and i will probably follow the advice of many and add another brace to it. I still have some finishing touches to do before i send it off to the couple i made it for. I have to do a good bit of sanding to do so ill get started on it today. It looks kinda slanted in some of the pictures and that is because it is sitting on a slope. I went with a fairly high back because the ladys husband is a big ol tall fella. Overall it wasnt that bad considering it was my first swing i have done and pretty much used my own design.

Not sure if anyone is interested but id be more than happy to GIVE anybody that wants a copy of the plans for the swing.

Nice one Brantley! The swing looks killer. I'm stuck in here in Atlanta with traffic and a bunch of inconsiderate people… and then you have to go and make me all jealous by put up pictures of the woods in south GA. I have got to get down soon! Anyway, the swing looks great! What type of wood is the slats on the swing?

Thanks for the comments guys…Brent i bet you do miss the woods of south ga if you are in Atlanta! haha…no offense but i try to stay out of the ATL as much as possible. No room there for this country boy!....as far as the slats….they are made out of PT pine deck wood..some of them are a little darker than the others. Its funny because the deck wood Lowes carries is usually alot darker than the deck wood HD carries. I had some leftover from another project so i had a mixture in the actual swing.
