Project Information

Apparently the woodbug bit her…

As a High School freshman, my daughter decided she wanted to take woodshop.

For her first project, she decided to make a rack that resembled sheet music.

Although this was so she could showcase her Bass Guitar, instead of making a bass clef, she decided to make a treble clef since it is more intricate and because of this, could improve the teacher's decision when ascertaining her grade.

She has also done some etching work for a kitchen plaque and she made a beautiful freehand woodburning of a wolf, both of which were made as gifts for me :)

Of course she followed in my steps by only using recycled pieces of wood for each and every project. This Teacher was confused that she'd only bring in some worn old ugly chunks of scrap. She said He'd kept offering her other new fresh cuts to work with, yet she would decline them. Then after running her piece through the planer, she'd go and ask him, if he thought this looked better… She said. he told her Yeah, that is much better to work with than the wood you brought in.

Ahh Grasshopper, if only teacher could learn from student.

If only more kids today were hooked up with music and woodworking… a wonderful combination! Great project.

Foolish teacher, tricks are for kids. Great job you've done here, and it's wonderful to see you show an interest and a real talent for woodworking.

Those who can do. Those who can't teach.

Those who do teach the teachers.

Yoda say "Do not give it up, let her." Push her not, too hard though."

"Do, there is no try."

Great job.
