Showcase cover image for Music Box with Glass

Project Information

This simple, yet elegant box takes a minimum of materials, but because there is such a little amount of surface area to be joined, precision is required.

Each side was built up on it's own using a jig to hold everything square and tight, then once dry, it was glued together. No miters, just a butt joint.

It's made from Cherry and Walnut.

This is really beautiful. Not only we listen the sound of music, we can see the performer live!
Great job, Rareddy!

Very nicely done. Did you do the glass work? I used to use a lot of sand blasted wildlife scenes in my gun cabinets (Some are posted on my sight). Thanks for posting.

God Bless

I'm afraid I can't take credit for the glass work, but found a nice source online (don't know if I still have the link) for those little panels. They are beveled, and the design is relieved into the glass.
