Morris Chair Traditional Slat in Cherry

This Morris Chair is Built out of Cherry and Has been finished with a dark stain and a hand rubbed lacquer finish. I have been building Morris Chairs for about 15 years now and I am now working on building up a line of different one that I will offer. A Morris chair is an early type of reclining chair. The original Morris chair had dark stained woodwork, turned spindles and heavily decorated upholstery, in typical Victorian style.As this style is by far the most common, the chair is often thought of as a Stickley design named in homage to Morris, rather than an original Morris piece.
