Project Information

I had some left over small scraps of spalted maple from several years ago. It was such an unusual piece of wood I wanted a project that would capture the beauty of the pieces. I finally decided this week to make a small modernistic mantel clock using the small scraps I had. The clock base and diamond shape are walnut and the rest is the spalted maple. The finish is satin lacquer. The clock has a very modern feel to it.

I like this new version of the "old mantle" clock.
Perhaps it will create a new old standard!

Beautiful design. I like the fact it was composed of several separated pieces.
