Showcase cover image for Mission style side table

Project Information

I used white oak that was gifted to me a few years back for the table. The table was built using plans form the book Craftsman Furniture Projects: Timeless Designs and Trusted Techniques (Best of Woodworker's Journal) if you ever get the book just a side note there is an error in the dimensions… part #3, the back apron, should be 17", not 17-1/4" I found this out the hard way. The plans did originally call for through tenon's but the person I built it for didn't like the look. All in all it was a fun build

I built a similar set of tables some time back, I really like the classic look!

Did you use plywood or solid for the lower shelf? I used solid and fretted over leaving expansion room so it wouldn't crack (seems to have worked)

Nice table!

ronstar, I used mortise and tenon joints, breadboard ends for the top and half blind dovetails for the drawer
