Project Information

This book rack is constructed of some of the same wood and the cutting boards that I posted. Walnut for the tennoned uprights and Maple for the rest. This is made from a design that is in the Popular Mechanics Mission furniture book. The joinery is 1/2 lap as well as mortise and tennon. I have also made these from Quarter Sawn White Oak but did not take any pictures of them prior to there sale. The size is 20" in length 7" wide and 7 1/2" tall.

nice project. Looks plenty beefy for books. I bet the QS white oak ones were beautiful too.

Nice job, Max. At first glance I thought that is some hefty bed frame. Guess my scale was off. Looks good!

Keats, Thank you for the compliment. The QS white oak ones were nice looking if I say so myself.

Calum, Thanks.

Roper, Thank you for your compliment.

Dennis, Thanks, I guess it could be a bed frame for a skinny tall doll!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice looking bookcase. It looks a lot sturdier and nicer than anything from the box stores. Thank you for sharing.

That looks like it will stand up to any book! Very nice work: I like the idea of the half lap joints.

Tbow,

The combination of Walnut and Maple always seem to go together in just about anything. Thanks….
