Project Information

Here's a mini shop vac cyclone I built during the holiday break. Works much better than I could have imagined. Before this cyclone I had a Thien baffle on a 30 gallon trash can but the can kept crushing in and probably due to my build/measurements was only about 90% effective in collecting debris. The Cyclone on the other hand is superb with about 98% effectiveness, I replaced my shop vac filter and after empting the bucket four times the filter is still clean and pristine. The design I got from projects SimonSKL and Jcoulam, not sure who came up with the design but it works very well, and thank you very much.

Later i plan to combine two shop vac motors in a wooden box with a 3 inch input going thru a larger cyclone (same design just larger) and pipe DC lines to my router table and table saw. Not sure if it will work and any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks

I must make one of these. The basement shop dust is driving my wife crazy!

Welcome to the club Boydman! Nice job, looks great! I just love mine too. My place would be a mess without one.

Bob, Good job and I am glad it is working better than you expected. I have yet to clean the filter in my shop vac since I built mine.
