Project Information

We were asked to do something different with this piece. Typically we work with reclaimed Wood only, but our customer wanted a table with metal legs to match a few other pieces they already had. We had some experience with basic welding and metal working, so we gave it a shot and this what turned out. The ends of the legs needed to be splayed so we cut wedges off a piece of bar stock, welded them to the leg and ground them flush. After all the welding and grinding we finished the metal with rust reformer and a flat black paint. The wood surfaces are of a butcher block type made with reclaimed oak. The wood was connected to the legs with 2" pyramid head lag screws, that we made by a blacksmith in North Carolina. In the end the customer was happy so we were happy.

That came out really beautiful. Cool design and like the combination of wood and metal. Great job!
