Project Information

"RIBBON DANCER" as it's called is one of our newest creations. Made from mesquite, this sculpture is still a mystery to me on how Scott made it. I watched him from start to finish and still don't know how it's done. First mesquite was glued up in a large block in a few stages using the vacuum bag. Then the ribbon design was sketched onto it and a bulk of the wood was removed with the bandsaw. Then Scott uses the chainsaw to start carving the shape and moves on to grinders for the final shaping. I inlayed turquoise into a few cracks and then sand, sand and sand. A natural piece of mesquite was used for the base and walla a beautiful sculpture sits before you. This piece is one its way to England with some other mesquite pieces.

This is such a wonderful piece that would show off quite well in an atrium or even a well lit niche. I only wish I had a larger home to show this off! Beautifully executed!

I'm sure it will be well received overseas. Do you have links to the gallery(s) that you'll be showing?
