Workshop Information

Location
United States
My workshop is called 3 Fingers Workshop because in 2000 I had a major brain fade and cut 3 of my fingers off (yes…all the way off) with my table saw. Long story and lucky me…they put them back on…so I can still count to 10. Although the re-attached fingers are a little shorter than the others…so technically it's more like 9.5.

The pic I attached is the shop very much in mid-project….in full glory. It would be nice to post a picture showing a nice, clean, organized shop….but it's rarely that way.

It looks like you have been busy in there, Max. When my shop gets to looking like this I get yelled at by my wife for "making such a mess in there". :) She is borderline OCD with respect to keeping things neat, tidy and organized and just can't seem to understand that sawdust is a natural byproduct of woodworking. You have some nice tools to play with. And I like the router table that you have added to your shop. I have been considering upgrading mine to an Incra system but just have not found the time to do so. The pegboard is another good idea. It is relatively inexpensive to put up and it will store and organize hand tools.

Thanks for posting the picture, Max. I enjoyed visiting your shop.

My shop is the third bay in my 3 car garage. I'm lucky enough to have a pretty huge garage to play in. Everything is on wheels…so when big projects get rolling…the cars get punted to the street. Also…my garage is separate from my house…so dust gets minimized.

Hummmmm….all I can say is just keep showing your wife all the cool stuff you're making. Hopefully she'll come around. :) Good luck on that one.

These days my saw-dust level is lower because I'm making so many pens!!! So I have plastic-dust…I guess!!! :)

Nice shop Max. A router table within the workbench? Unusual but clever.

For safety reasons, I never let my shop in such a mess! Aren't you afraid of tripping on what's on the floor???

Thanks for sharing your shop. Every woodworker is a kind of 'voyeur'. Peeking in others shop is addictive.

Best,

Serge

Well…I had JUST finished cleaning my shop when I went and cut my fingers off….so I guess I'm safer with more mess!! :)

Actually…the 'workbench' is a fully dedicated router table. Incra jig permanently attached on top with an additional split fence setup I can add. Drawers are full of router related items and the 'door' is access to the actual router.
