"Start to finish turned and dried on the lathe".
how do you dry it while still on the lathe?

If you take the wall thickness to a uniform 3/8ths or less and run the lathe speed around 1800 the moisture will be forced to the out side by gravity. Sand from the inside first the heat and the rotation will dry the wood. Be careful how much heat you generate so you limit any surface checking.

Sorry no before pictures.
