Project Information

This is a project started on my Ringmaster and finished on the Lathe. I like to avoid the tell tale plugs in the bottom of my Ringmaster projects when I can. I cut 4 rings from a piece of Maple and then took two more pieces of the same stock and turned a bottom and a lid. The pitiful attempt at a finial is a piece of Cocobolo I had lying around. The bottom and the top have been turned to fit into the canister (a rabbit I guess you could say). The wood was a little punky for some reason and I could not get a smooth finish on it - at least I didn't think it was looking smooth, but it is smooth to the touch. It measures about 4 3/4" high and 3 3/4" wide.

Bill, you did a great job combining the Ringmaster and the lathe to turn out this canister.
