Showcase cover image for Mallet without a lathe.

Project Information

Mallet Made on the CNC. I do not have a lathe and wanted to see if I could make a turning on the CNC without a 4th axis. Its a two step operation where you have to flip the workpiece.

All in all not bad - I did not center the walnut very well and the mallet seems too small and lightweight. I think next time a larger size.

I think it would be faster on a lathe.

Hickory and walnut finished with tried and true.

That's really cool, I would love to have a CNC machine. I think your right, a lathe might have been faster but a CNC is really cool.
