Workshop Information

Location
United States
After spending many, many years doing woodwork out of a carport, then a one car garage, then a 2 car garage, I have finally been able to build my own dedicated workshop ! This is the ultimate dream, except it still isn't big enough…... but then, is it ever?
In 2005 I completed my 20×30 workshop / office building. Actually, I have to be honest, the "frame to sheetrock" was done by Tuff Shed. I had an electrician do all the wiring then I did all the rest of the finish work and fine tuning and built the deck. The building is divided into a workshop space that is 20×20 and the office space is 20×10. I wanted my office space to be large enough so I could also do my photography and stained glass, however, in hind site, I truly do need a larger workshop. I have plans not to build out another 6 foot on the side ( where the deck is ) and that will become my finish room and will house the dust collector and air compressor. The pictures show the front view of the bulding and the back end of the building to receive materials, then 4 pictures show my shop interior and 4 that are imbeded her to show my office interior.

Once I get the addition done I will re-post more pics. Thanks for looking , Gene

Gene, you have put together a pretty nice looking shop. I have always thought that a stand alone shop is the way to go. Another plus in my book is incorporating windows in a shop and it looks like yours gets quite a bit of natural light. You have your shop well organized and have a nice set of tools to play with.

Thanks for the pictures. I enjoyed taking a tour of your shop.

What am I missing, Gene? I don't see the photos.

At any rate, I can't even imagine what your projects will look like now that you have a proper space to work in!

Yup, it's easier to follow along, once the pictures are there.

Great looking shop.

Ahh. So this is where all those wonderful pieces come from. Great layout you have there Gene. It must be a joy to work in. I have a question, if it's 20×40 with a 20×20 work area, and the office is 20×10, isn't there 10' missing somewhere? Am I missing something? At any rate, it's a wonderful shop I look forward to seeing the pics of the addition.
