Very nice looking piece. I love the way segmented turnings turn out and the way the light reflects off the piece as you look at them at different angles. Very good job!! Thanks for posting

It doesn't look like you developed any "rust" while you were away from the shop because the piece looks great! Nice work Darryl.

doordude: the inside is almost as smooth as the outside. the hollowing tool uses a scraping action so it's fairly smooth inside, though i didn't sand the inside of the vessel.

Very nice shape and finish. I like turning mahogany, nice timber.

Did you use pure tung oil or the varnish type?

it feels good to be back. I've got some new design ideas for the first time in several months… we'll see what else I can come up with.

SASmith: I used the Minwax Tung Oil Finish
