Project Information

So I have caught a bit of that "don't buy a new one, I can fix it bug." Stephanie decided to paint the bathroom. She took off all the hanging fixtures, including the toilet paper roll hanger and repainted them too. Unfortunately, she left them outside on a rock, and when I drove home in the dark, I ran over the roll hanger. It wasn't ruined but the screw that held the hanger to the wall was broken. I tried to use JB Weld, but it just wouldn't hold. So what did I do…'

Why I sanded down a dowel rod with my 6" delta grinder and cut it off from the rod. Viola, new screw with a wide enough head so that it could hold the piece in place!

Boy did I feel manly!

sorry …. but I think I probably would have sprung for a new paper holder and spent the time installing a solar light at the driveway .

Whoot, Whoot, Whoot! you just joined us, he men club, we can fix and do anything for the wife. After a while though, look out because you'll start hearing, honey can you make this, and honey can you make that. Of course you'll have to say yes, "I can do that". Then comes the honey do list. LOL. mike

Forgive me for my sexist comment, my wife and I are in an old fashioned relationship, but I've been trying to break her and teach her to do things for herself. She's surprised sometimes at what she is capable of. We've been married 32 years short, so we have learned to split the choirs, kinda.

Welcome to Lumberjacks, spunwood. Yep, the good old honey do list. It just grows faster than you can shake a stick at it. Good work.
