Clever storage area for the plane. I like the way its held in place with the small cut outs.
Looks great and your plane wound get damaged to dinged in that box.

Good thinking on using the arms to keep it up and ready.
Still need to make a home for mine, so I may steal the idea.

Get a nail punch on that proud nail - it's making my OCD twitch :)

Thanks, Jon! Those are actually drilled holes. When I cut the box open, I cut just above them, then cleaned up with a chisel.

Thanks, Mike! The Veritas Combination Plane came with a similar box (I pre-ordered mine, so I got the box for free), and it used that idea. Figured it was an idea worth stealing. As for the proud nail, I might just have to leave it a hair proud to bug people. ;-)

Thanks, Jim!

Thanks, Tony!

Thanks, Oldrivers!

Thanks, Dave!

Thanks, Ron!

I'm confused - a great little plane, hand cut dovetails, piano hinge, nice clasp, ok pine then nails ? If you were trying to emulate something that Roy Underhill might have done you would have "nailed' it had you used cut nails and a leather strap for the hinge.
Still a pretty nice box Dave

Thanks, SteveN.

Thanks, Dave. Didn't have enough clamps I could reach with my bad back, so nailing on the top and bottom meant no clamps for those parts.

I did use cut nails, Dick. Quickest way to the finish line.

Thanks, Eric. It's not exactly a prized tool, but it's one I'll be using regularly, so protecting it seemed like a good idea.
