Project Information

The semi and lowboy were constructed a few years ago with the intent of building a dozer or excavator to pair with it. This past January I started fabricating the track section for the Toys and Joys excavator. The track pads are cherry with the rest of the excavator being white hard maple. My 60 year old Rockwell bandsaw and my scrollsaw got a workout on this piece. As hard as maple is, I like using it on these because the cut edge stays so crisp. I enjoy working on these, and the favorite model I have made is generally the one I am working on at the time.

Woodman1 Nicely done, and great job on the low boy too as I have a real love for making them myself.

I found it quite interesting your excavator [the toys and Joys newer model plan] and arudson excavator a few spaces back which is the older style Toys and Joys excavators plan.
