Project Information

I think Love Spoons are symbolic in many cultures in the world.

They say that some skills may be genetically passed on to future generations. My sister, and her husband traveled to Norway several years ago . She said she saw a great deal of beautiful carvings during her tour. She said she thought of me while viewing them.

The Norwegian half of me comes from my mother's side. My paternal half of me is Manxman, which originates on the Isle of Man, which was once conquered, and controlled by the Vikings. For those who don't know it. The Isle of Man is in the Irish Sea between England, and Ireland.

My sister purchased a beautiful Love spoon for me, and being that she loved it so much, I made a replica of it for her. A few years later I decided to carve a Love spoon of my own design for my Sweetheart. I used Aromatic Red Cedar, which is great wood for carving with lots of color variations, plus the pleasant aroma you get to smell during the process.
