Project Information
This is a most unusual Tine, and a bit of a challenge to make, but that is what this game is all about, isn't it. A Tine is a very strong box, as long as the bentwood sides continue to curve. In this case, the box is long and narrow, so the long sides became too parallel. I strengthened the box by adding the two dividers. I curved the top of the dividers to match the concave underside of the top.
I did quite a bit of taxidermy work in my younger years, and still had some glass eyes laying around. Finally found a use for them.
It is made form Cherry and Bubinga. The overall size is 22" long, 6 1/4" wide, and 6 1/2" high. The inside dimensions are 16 1/2" by 5 1/2" by 3 1/4'. Finished with Tung oil and urethane.
This piece has been in a art gallery in Rochester Minnesota for the last couple years, and I needed to put in out to a wider audience.
