Project Information

Wood And Materials Used
Mahogany and Spalted Maple
Tools Used
table saw, router, router table, chisels, hand saws,
Spalted Maple sides and top with Mahogany corners, edges and handle. Kind of an experiment for the dovetail corners. The box is 5 by 7 inches and 4 inches tall Wall thickness 3/8" Cork on the bottom. Finish is wipe on Poly.

Nice little box Ron, the dovetail splines look great along with the handle. Is there a lip on the top to keep it from sliding off? Well done.

Yes the top is recessed on the edges to keep it in place. Thanks for the comments. Sorry about the double post via the comments

Have to confess the blind dovetails were done on the router table. They are blind dovetails and not splines. Either would work and show the same, I think not sure about splines on the edges. Thanks for the interest.

Ron, that makes more sense now, a solid corner. Should have enlarged the photo and I would have seen the grain.

Still very well done.
