Project Information

This entry way table is the second version of my bridge inspired table. Inspired after the lilac rd bridge in San Diego Ca. It's designed with the same elements as my previous piece, but made to fit in a specific location in a clients entry way. The client wanted a piece that would draw attention when someone entered the house. The table top has a floating design and the bottom shelf is inset to lighten the look. It stands 30" tall, 34 1/2" long, and 14" deep. The Primary wood is Walnut and the accent wood is Pau Ferro. Mortise and slip tenon joinery throughout. Finished with a wiping varnish.

Excellent photographs, how do you do that? Oh yeah, the table is pretty cool, too.

I have a friend that took my photos and video of this piece on my website. He's very talented. I tried photos myself before but they weren't close to this quality.

elegant! Is the arch a bent, laminated or cut piece?

Thanks Doc. The arch is a cut piece. It's cut from the same board as the top support it's attached to so the grain would match. Actually the whole piece was cut from one 8/4 board of Walnut, except for the pau ferro insert. This way the color matched all the way around.

Very nicely done. Dig the design. I've always found bridges inspiring for their visual presence as much as their function. Bravo.

How can you not be inspired after traversing Golden Gate or the Brooklyn or the Sunshine Skyway or any other such man-made wonder? Again, nicely done.

I know this thread is old, but this is one of the finest pieces I've seen on this website. Gorgeous.
