Project Information

Here's my second lift top router table. My first lift top table was made from industrial surplus parts but I loved it so much that I wanted to make it possible for others to do the same. Oddly enough I have never seen a cabinet mount router lift on the market anywhere so maybe this lift I'm selling is the first. Yep, I've made a few of the lift mechanisms and posted a few videos on Youtube and I now have the lifts on ebay.

The lifts involved a bit of metal working and a lot more work than I really anticipated. My design is pretty simple but also very effective. I ended up having the two plates on the lifts cut with a water jet… a very cool and amazing process! The lift is chain drive and one turn on the crank move the bit height 1/16" inch… very handy!

So here's the finished router table and a few links. I hope this doesn't violate any Lumberjock policies but maybe a few jocks will buy the lift. This lift is very cool! I hope that doesn't sound too conceded but I'm proud of the way it turned out. In my opinion, a lift top router table is the ONLY router table for me and this lift is within the price range of most other lifts. I'm honestly not making much profit and my investment is huge… scary huge actually! The water jet work added some cost but it's also very accurate and made for a very nice lift.

I hope you enjoy the post and the videos.

One last thing, when you buy the lift you get free plans for the table. Oh, and it cuts from one sheet of 3/4" plywood too!

Looks very robust. I think I'll have to buy one later this evening.

Hey, thanks for all the compliments! I actually like this new router table better than my super router table (the last project I posted) because it's a little easier to move around and takes up a bit less room. In fact I think I'll sell the my super router table. It's a fantastic router table but this one does everything I need it to do.

Now I need to sell a few of these lifts. These lifts are solid as a rock, moderately priced and make building a lift top router table very easy. If you think you might be interested take another look. I guarantee you'll love it or your money back!

Thanks again for the compliments, it's good for my ego )

I just thought of something… if you want to buy one of these lifts contact me. I'll knock off all the ebay seller fees which are about 12%
