I love Free Little Libraries and these two are fantastic builds.
They are a great way to build a sense of community and literacy!

I wish I lived in an area where we had foot traffic. I'd put one up in a heartbeat.

I like the clear roof. Brightens the whole thing up inside. What is the roof and how is it attached?

I love that idea as well. We had one near here in my town, but the home owner had to take it down. Somebody set a big cardboard box of books beside it right before a heavy rain. I guess the Free Little Libraries concept only works in communities with a relatively high average IQ.

Swirt, the roof is a multi-wall clear polycarbonate. It is available in the big box stores. It is attached with screws that have compressible washers/seals to keep out the water. The open ends (between the walls) are covered with a channel, also available at the big box store, that is held on with a bead of clear silicone

Thank you for the info on the roof. I'll have to keep my eye open for it next time I'm out.
