Project Information
A nearby small town has put out 100's of blue bird houses, in an effort to get the blue birds to return to that town. Maybe 50 years ago, there were so many blue birds, their high school mascot was the Blue Bird.
Two ladies from that town, that I work on projects with regularly, are rehabbing an old main street building, to be a new community center. Both ladies go crazy over blue birds and the project to bring them back.
I decided a nice gift for their newly rehabbed building would be a stained glass Blue Bird panel. Furthermore, I decided to make it an LED lighted display panel.
The stained glass panel was the easy part. Learning about those new fangled LED strip lights was a real adventure!!
I made a prototype box from common pine. The final box is red oak, stained to a Golden Oak color.
The two ladies were tickled pink to receive my gift.
