Thank you for your comment. I like to do alot of my work on white oak or anyother light wood I have lieing around. beleive it or not this is on the back of regular paneling. I had taken some paneling out of a trailor I lived in a few years ago and had stuck it back thinking it might come in handy sooner or later. I also find that luen works good for burning on also.
Again Thank you for your comment.

All my burnings are coated with two - three layers of 1/2 water and 1/2 elmers white glue mixed to get the depth I want, than I coat it with a spray laquer two to four layers for the final coat. The glue mixer gives the acual depth that I like to see on a finished piece.

jim, be careful when you burn on plywood. if you go too deep you hit the glue and it gves of fumes you do not want to breath.

have you tried burning on maple or poplar? they both work good as does aspen. and basswood.

i finish my woodburnings with clear acylic paint. gives thema solf finish with out the glare of varnish.

keep up the good work.
