Great Job Gerry. I felt very intimidated about trying to make one. Now I'm just intimidated.

I saw one of these in Woodcraft just today when picking up some materials for a treasure chest for my daughter. Looks very useful and sturdy

Great looking steadyrest, and if your grandson needs his skates back, Rockler has the wheels for sale. Those
wheels do a great job of supporting the work without marring it.

Diggerjacks-The inside diameter is 10" ... the plywood is 12" wide by 12 1/4" high.

I changed out the wheels on my steady-rest …

The new wheels are much smaller than the inline skate wheels, so I can use with smaller diameter turnings. They are also much harder so the workpiece doesn't flex so much. I also replaced the T-tracks with longer arms. Here is the stuff I bought:

-Skateboard WHEELS Blank 50mm WHITE Skateboards (101a hardness, $8.45 on Amazon)

-New bearings (ABEC 9 Bearings Skateboard Deck Longboard Red Silver, $1.00 on Amazon).

-Bearing spacers/speed washers ($4.95 of Amazon)

I have been looking for a steady rest plan for a while and this one seems to be the one I'm going to pick. Not special, not fancy, 4 wheel. however.. i cant seem to figure out what issue WJ133 is… can you tell me the year and cover art? Thank you much!!
OH! also, what bars did you use? the red ones.

Sorry for the "necro-post"!
